Photographed in Jordan
Known as Jabal al-Qal’a in Arabic, the historical site is in downtown Amman on an L-shaped hill on one of the seven mountains that made up the original city of Amman. That said, this amazing ancient site dates back to the Bronze Age (1650 – 1550 BC), and is considered to be among the world’s oldest continuously inhabited places. Now a musuem, it’s antiquities are well protected and a worthwhile site to see.
