Worldly Vistas: Light the Sky

Northern Lights, Hudson Bay , Canada

Northern Lights
Photographed in Canada

Northern lights—aurora borealis—are caused by the interaction of charged particles from the sun with atoms in the upper atmosphere. These dancing lights are strongest in the winter months and are a joy to see. The downside? Yes! It was very cold, but worth being out on Hudson Bay’s tundra to watch this natural phenomenon.
