Worldly Vistas: Icescape

Antractica - ice to the sea

Below the 60th Parallel
Photographed in Antarctica

Ice everywhere…at least for now. But the beautiful glaciers in Antarctica are at threat from global warming as warming temperatures, melting ice, and rising seas endanger this pristine ecosystem.

I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. Just sayin’

Worldly Vistas: Snowscape

Snowscape, Hudson Bay, Manitoba Canada

At the 60th Parallel
Photographed in Canada

Hudson Bay, Manitoba is a glorious place, for polar bears, that is! It’s the second largest bay in the world, second only to the Bay of Bengal. And, it’s very cold even all year round, especially in the winter. Yet, it  is also beautiful in the way tundra, blowing snow, blocked sun and sparse trees have a beauty all to themselves.
